Frederick MD Real Estate

Frederick is located in the north central part of the state of Maryland. The city is located at the junction of Interstate 70, Interstate 270, U.S. Route 340, U.S. Route 40, U.S. Route 40 Alternate and U.S. Route 15.  As of the 2010 census, the city’s population was 65,239 people, making it the second largest incorporated area in Maryland. It is home to the U.S. Army’s Fort Detrick, the largest employer in Frederick county.

Historic Downtown Frederick has a wide variety of more than 200 retailers, restaurants and antique shops.  Dining establishments offer an array of cuisines including Italian, Modern American, Cuban, Vietnamese, Thai, and Ethiopian.

Outside of downtown you will find popular chain restaurants such as Olive Garden, Famous Dave’s Barbecue, Outback, Carrabba’s, Red Robin (yummm!), Bonefish Grill, just to name a few.  For shopping, Frederick has the Francis Scott Key Mall, Westview Promenade, as well as popular retail stores such as Wal-mart, Target, Home Depot, Best Buy, Sam’s Club, Bed Bath and Beyond, and many more.
